was the winner of the Prague Spring International Music Competition in 2006 and a finalist of the Pierre Fournier Award 2012. In 2007 he recorded an album with pianist Ivo Kahánek on Supraphon, which was described by critics as 'the Czech debut of the decade'. His latest recording with the SOČR Orchestra and Tomáš Netopil features a complete recording of Antonín Dvořák's works for cello and orchestra. He has performed solo with orchestras in Japan, New York, Israel, Germany and Spain under the direction of conductors Jakub Hrůša, Marko Ivanović, Eliahu Inbal, Petr Vronský, Leoš Svárovský, Petr Altrichter and others. In addition to his engagements with the Dvořák Trio, Tomáš Jamník has also performed with mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená, pianist Leif Ove Andsnes, the Panoch Quartet and the Pavel Haas Quartet. Tomáš Jamník began playing the cello under the direction of Mirko Škampa and Martin Škampa. After studying at HAMU under Prof. Josef Chuchro, he continued his studies in Berlin under Prof. Jens Peter Maintz. He extended his studies at the renowned Karajan Academy in the Berlin Philharmonic.
